Instructional Development

Instructional Website

Throughout the course, we designed and built an instructional website with various multimedia and interactive resources. I chose to create a site with resources for the general public to be able to effectively and efficiently find and consume information in their daily lives. I built my site with Weebly because it was one I hadn’t used in the past and I found it easy to use and 100% mobile responsive. On my site, I created resources using Pinterest, Quizlet, Powtoons, and Screencast-O-Matic. Click on the links below to either visit the website or view the Voicethread presentation to learn more about the process of creating my site.

Learner Analysis

The first step in creating our instructional website was to analyze our audience. I found it incredibly useful to do this first because it allowed me to plan all of my website activities around their characteristics.

Topic & Site Organization

One of the most helpful facets of this entire project was organizing both my topic brainstorm (using bubbl.us) and my site structure (using Mindomo) in advance of building anything. This helped me sort out my thoughts and make logical decisions. I have started incorporating this process in my life and with other projects!
