This assignment called for us to create a website in HTML5 and to add digital media elements to it. As this was my first course that I took in the program and I knew the creative component would come up quicker than I realized, I used this as an opportunity to create a website to display my work! I created my “Designs & Sunshine” logo using Adobe Illustrator 2015 and my HTML5 website using Wix. The Wix site I created is the one you are currently on, so feel free to peruse!

Using Windows Movie Maker, I created a digital storytelling project that tells the love story between my husband and I. It was actually my first time using Windows Movie Maker and I found it relatively easy to use. The background song is from Sound Cloud with a Creative Commons license. We didn't have video at our wedding, so I incorporated the only video we had for the whole ceremony - an instagram video my cousin took when we said "I do" - by recording my screen with Screen-O-Matic. I inserted it at the end for the climax portion of digital storytelling.

The original intent of my website was for it to not only be a place to showcase my work, but to also function as a resource hub for those looking to gain some instructional design skills. As my final course project, I updated my site with resources on Digital Storytelling and Video to serve that purpose, building off the content and skills I had learned within the course. This project showed me that building a website is something that is quite tedious, takes time, and, thanks to updates, is never ending.
